About the role
To provide a high standard of personalised care to guests in a sensitive and respectful manner. To ensure that rehabilitation goals, strategies and procedures are implemented to comply with legislation as laid down in the Care Standards Act 2000. To represent Delamere at all levels. To ensure that the nursing team and management are kept informed of activities and developments within Delamere. To ensure that the treatment philosophy is carried out efficiently, effectively, as a model of good practice and with all due reference to statutory and legal requirements.

Major accountabilities
To monitor the physical and emotional well-being of all guests to be aware of changes and to alert senior colleagues as necessary.
To assist in maintaining morale of guests by communication and contact – achieved by talking and working with them.
To work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
To attend to and assist guests in achieving a high standard of physical care, including diet, hygiene, appearance, and good routine.
To participate in general household duties and assist guests in the management of their bedrooms and common areas, as appropriate.
To observe strict confidentiality in respect of any information regarding guests.
To complete tasks as requested by nursing team or management and support nursing team in tasks such as, ECG’S, vitals’, nursing med’s chaperone, Venepuncture, Uploading of results and liaising with the on-call doctor.
Engage in and complete training both online and face-to-face.
To play an active role in the induction and training of new colleagues.
To support the nurses to monitor the detoxification and general healthcare needs of all guests.
To chaperone clinical appointments when required.
Diarise daily tasks that need completing.
To support other teams within Delamere including catering and domestic teams.

Experience and Knowledge
Experience with working in a team and independently
Knowledge of addiction treatment sector and mental health
Ideally, experience in completing physical observations with support from nursing team
Ideally, experience of operating within a highly regulated environment and formal governance structure
Ideally, completed studies into care sector
Good Communication skills is essential
Full Driving license is required for driving the works van to equine therapy on our weekly visit and specimen runs to the hospital.
To escort guests when attending hospital and dental appointments.
May need to administer first aid in emergency situations.
