Delamere alcohol rehab

Delamere is the only purpose-built alcohol rehab centre in the UK. Our alcohol rehab programme blends traditional and evidence-based therapies with more innovative treatments that are not available at other rehabs, to make your experience immersive and tailored to your individual needs.

Delamere is a private residential rehab based in Cheshire. Our multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, therapists, and lived experience practitioners provide exemplary, regulated care and help with addiction that makes our guests feel safe and supported. Our approach takes advantage of holistic therapies including breathwork, yoga, equine therapy, mindfulness, meditation, art, and music, as well as 2 counselling 1-1s, 2 Recovery Mentoring 1-1s, and group therapies each week.

Alcohol rehab at Delamere generally begins with a medically assisted alcohol detox to help your body overcome the physical aspects of the addiction. You will be prescribed tailored medication to help you withdraw safely and continuously monitored by our 24-hour on-site nurses. After supporting you through a safe, assisted detox, the next step of alcohol rehab addresses the psychological aspects and root causes of the addiction through a variety of individual and group therapies as well as a range of immersive holistic therapies. Guests will learn how to stay sober and find rehab aftercare services local to them such as Alcoholics Anonymous to support their continued sobriety after their Delamere retreat.

“The 28 days recovery I completed has changed my life and put a whole new perspective on my life and I can’t thank the lovely staff for all the support they provided me on my down days. Staff that you really do connect with and have respect for you. Highly recommended. Will always hold my journey in Delamere in my heart as it’s changed my whole outlook and perspective on my future.” – Jenna Keates, Former Delamere Guest

Why is alcohol rehab important?

Alcohol rehab provides you with the chance to address the underlying causes of your addiction and take steps to overcome it. Delamere is a private alcohol rehab centre that specialises in treating addiction on a residential basis. Our programmes work by allowing patients to press the pause button and focus, without distraction, on getting well.

Delamere is the perfect environment to achieve a safe assisted detox and alcohol rehab programme. Entering into group activities allows guests to meet others and take away any shame surrounding their addiction.

This fosters a supportive community of Delamere guests who can open up to each other about shared experiences and help each other to grow from their addictions together.

Alcohol rehab at Delamere helps guests restore their mental, physical, and emotional health by getting to the root cause of the problem and helping to establish healthy boundaries. Guests are equipped with the strategies they need to rebuild relationships and social connections and find new meaning in life.

“If alcohol is costing you more than money and you’re unable to set limits around the amount you’re drinking, it’s time to seek professional help. There is no shame in asking for help with addiction. Myself and many of my colleagues have been there and we’re passionate about providing the right setting in which people can recover.”

The Delamere approach to alcohol rehab

An inpatient stay at Delamere is a deliberately intensive 4-phase alcohol rehab programme, one which we have crafted over time and has helped many participants recover. Our emphasis is on holistic care to treat addiction and associated issues. This means that we treat the whole person rather than just the symptoms they present with. We believe that successful treatment runs far deeper than simply stopping the addictive substance or behaviour.

Our approach at Delamere comprises 4 core phases: Stop, Start, Grow, & Bloom. Everything we offer at Delamere aims at effective and lasting outcomes in addiction treatment:

  • Stop Icon
    Stage 1: Stop

This phase addresses any physical aspects of your addiction. Our medical team is on hand 24/7 to ensure a safe and effective withdrawal.

  • Start Icon
    Stage 2: Start

During ‘Start’ we help identify the psychological underpinnings of your dependency as you participate in a variety of addiction treatment therapies.

  • Grow Icon
    Stage 3: Grow

Our ‘Grow’ phase is the process of integrating the Delamere learning experience into life after treatment.

  • Bloom Icon (Use)
    Stage 4: Bloom

Our ‘Bloom’ phase offers intensive support on a weekly basis for the first three months of recovery once guests return home.

How to encourage a loved one to go to an alcohol rehab centre

If you are looking to help a family member, work colleague, or loved one, admit themselves to an alcohol rehab centre, we’re here to help. It may be that the person in question is in denial about the extent of their problem, possibly even refusing to acknowledge that there’s a problem – and resisting professional help. At Delamere, we provide family support services and help your loved one confront addiction and denial.

Should it be necessary, we also offer intervention services whereby we take the time to understand what is happening and help prepare and rehearse a formal intervention that will culminate in your loved one entering treatment with us. If you are considering organising an intervention for your loved one, friend, or colleague, contact Delamere today.

Frequently asked questions about alcohol rehab

Residential alcohol rehab vs. outpatient. Which is better?

There are two methods of alcohol rehab treatment. Residential alcohol rehab programmes invite guests to stay overnight on-site for the duration of their care whilst outpatient treatment involves day visits to the facility for therapy, but the person is then allowed to return home. Both use a combination of alcohol detox and therapy but have different benefits depending on your specific needs.

Delamere residential private alcohol rehab provides:

  • A safe space for you to recover away from stress and temptation
  • 24-hour medical care from a team of clinical specialists
  • Individualised treatment plans
  • Expert guidance on nutrition and physical health
  • Aftercare support for up to 12 months
How long does alcohol rehab at Delamere last?

A residential alcohol rehab programme typically lasts for 28 days, but this may vary depending on your specific needs. Overcoming alcohol addiction is a lifelong commitment and you may require therapy for months or even years. As well as providing outstanding treatment, at Delamere we also focus on developing a future-proof plan for all guests to ensure all guests have the tools to cope with any triggers and potential relapses in the outside world.
