Cannabis Detox

Whilst detoxing from cannabis at home is possible, it is much harder to do alone and often leads to relapse. This is where the cannabis addiction treatment programme at Delamere can help.

Tailored cannabis detox at Delamere

Detoxing from cannabis is typically the first step of your treatment here at Delamere. At our private rehab in Cheshire, guests will undergo a medically assisted detox with 24-hour care from our dedicated on-site nurses. To make cannabis withdrawal as comfortable as can be, we approach marijuana detox on an individual basis, ensuring the process is as smooth and pain-free as possible.

Our multi-disciplinary team has everything in place to help you through a safe and comfortable cannabis detox in our purpose-built clinic in Cheshire.

We understand the courage it takes to let go of cannabis and seek help in breaking the cycle of active addiction, which is why we offer a tailored medical detox supported by 24-hour on-site nurses. We can help to alleviate the unpleasant side effects of withdrawal with a clinical cannabis detox that addresses your physical dependence on cannabis and supports you throughout the process.

The benefits of an inpatient cannabis detox centre vs. detox at home

Safe detoxification is the first part of any successful drug rehab treatment. Making the decision to get professional help with a cannabis detox is the best way to remove the drug from your system. As well as being supported by a dedicated medical team 24/7, at Delamere, you will be in a relaxed environment away from the usual situations that may trigger an addiction relapse. Attempting to detox at home, alone and without proper medical supervision, can seriously put your well-being at risk.

The safest option is to have a professional medical team oversee your detox programme within a cannabis rehab centreOnce you have safely withdrawn from cannabis in the comfort of our clinic, we can begin working with you to understand the root cause of your addiction and start laying the foundations for you to live a life free from drugs.

“Cannabis is the ultimate ‘de-motivator’ and when addiction takes hold users often become isolated in the extreme.”

‘Stop’ lays the foundations for the following stages of our rehab programme. Once you have completed your detox, staying stopped and future-proofing your abstinence is the next step.

How to encourage a loved one to go to rehab

If you are looking to help a family member, work colleague, or loved one, admit themselves to an addiction rehabilitation centre, we’re here to help. It may be that the person in question is in denial about the extent of their problem, possibly even refusing to acknowledge that there’s a problem – and resisting professional help. At Delamere, we provide family support services and help your loved one confront addiction and denial.

Should it be necessary, we also offer intervention services whereby we take the time to understand what is happening and help prepare and rehearse a formal intervention that will culminate in your loved one entering treatment with us. If you are considering organising an intervention for your loved one, friend, or colleague, contact Delamere today.

Frequently asked questions about cannabis detox

How long does a weed detox take?

The time it takes to complete the initial detox depends on the amount of cannabis, or weed, your body is reliant on and how long you have been taking it. Typically, your body should be free from the physical dependence on cannabis within around 7 days, but the psychological dependence will require more ongoing support in the form of 1-1 counselling and group therapy.

When will cannabis withdrawal symptoms begin?

The first few days of cannabis detox are usually the most challenging, but you will be fully supported during this time both emotionally and physically. Our nursing team here at Delamere is trained to minimise withdrawal symptoms and make the process as bearable as possible. Soon, your body will start to rid itself of toxins and you will begin to feel more normal again.
