Work through addiction and address any mental health issues with help from programmes tailored to you.
Addiction and mental health issues often come hand in hand. Roughly half of individuals with severe mental health disorders are affected by substance abuse.
Whether it’s mental health issues caused by addiction, or existing mental health issues leading to using drugs in the first place. Either way, it’s important to address both in order to make a true transformation in your life.
When someone is suffering from both mental health issues and addiction, we refer to this as a dual diagnosis or a co-occurring disorder.
Dual diagnosis isn’t something every rehabilitation clinic treats, however, at Delamere, we’re passionate about helping you truly grow beyond addiction. And without giving you the tools and knowledge to move beyond any underlying mental health issues you’re facing – your addiction will always remain. This is why we opt for a more holistic approach to recovery.
We have a fantastic team of health nurses, psychiatrists, doctors and therapists at our facility which are a big part of our programmes, but we also offer things like art and equine therapies, yoga and breathwork classes and have an on-site gym. We host fire ceremonies, nature walks, and offer family visits when the time is right.
We use what we believe to be the most effective ways to treat addiction and dual diagnosis to create a programme tailored to your specific needs.
If you are dealing with a dual diagnosis or think you know someone who is, contact our team today and learn more about the different programmes we offer here at Delamere.

This causes significant problems and limitations in relationships, social activities, work and school.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental disorders affecting children. ADHD also affects many adults. Symptoms of ADHD include inattention (not being able to keep focus), hyperactivity (excess movement that is not fitting to the setting) and impulsivity (hasty acts that occur in the moment without thought).

Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia
Psychotic disorders are a group of serious illnesses that affect the mind. They make it hard for someone to think clearly, make good judgments, respond emotionally, communicate effectively, understand reality, and behave appropriately.
Individuals who suffer with these disorders can often self-medicate with different substances and develop a harmful addiction which only makes the matter worse.
It’s important that if you or someone you know suffers with these or any other mental health issues and has developed an addiction that they get help immediately.
