We believe that the quality of care we offer our guests at Delamere begins with the well-being of our team and their connection with one another.
Improving connection, whether that be with oneself or with other guests or colleagues, is an essential element of what we provide through our treatment programme. Our guests experience an immersive, stimulating, and engaging stay at Delamere, and reconnection is one of the outcomes that comes from this experience.
Recently, our team enjoyed an inspiring away day at The Farm Club in Cheshire, a beautiful space that allowed us to practice some of the holistic therapies we offer here.
For us, away days are so much more than a break from the day-to-day. They are a meaningful opportunity to pause, reset and reconnect with the values that underpin our work.

The role of connection in recovery
We know that healing happens through connection; a connection to oneself, to others and to the world around us, something that may have been lost somewhere down the line for many suffering with addiction.
Addiction often thrives in isolation and recovery begins when people feel truly seen, heard and understood.
Our team day at The Farm Club was a powerful reminder of this.
Taking the time to connect with one another outside of our usual environment allowed us to strengthen the bonds that make our team so effective.

Through shared experiences, open conversations, and moments of reflection, we were reminded that empathy, trust and understanding are the foundation of meaningful care.
This sense of connection extends beyond our team. It is at the heart of the work we do with every guest who comes to Delamere.
By creating a safe and supportive environment, we help people rebuild a connection with themselves, their loved ones, and a community that believes in their potential to grow beyond addiction.
Holistic therapies provided at Delamere
We offer a range of holistic therapies designed to treat the whole person, rather than just the present symptoms of addiction.
Healing from addiction is about far more than giving up substances; it’s about rediscovering balance, rebuilding self-awareness and nurturing emotional and physical well-being.
The holistic therapies we offer are:
- Somatic Breathwork: breathing techniques calm the nervous system and promote emotional regulation. It helps guests release stress, reduce anxiety and reconnect with their bodies, a vital step after years of emotional or physical disconnection caused by addiction.
- Yoga: combining movement, breath, and mindfulness, yoga supports both physical strength and inner balance. It encourages patience, discipline and self-compassion.
- Massage therapy: massage helps the body release stored tension and trauma while promoting relaxation and improved sleep. It’s a gentle way to rebuild a positive relationship with one’s body and to experience the benefits of self-care.

- Equine therapy: working with horses encourages self-awareness, trust and emotional honesty. Horses respond to human behaviour and energy, allowing guests to reflect on their emotions and communication in a safe, non-judgmental way. This can be a powerful experience in developing empathy and personal responsibility.
- Art and music therapy: creative therapies provide a voice for emotions that can be difficult to express through words alone. Painting, sculpting or making music can help guests explore their experiences, process trauma, and rediscover joy in self-expression.
- Nature-based practices and fire ceremonies: connection with nature is an important part of recovery at Delamere. Time outdoors, reflective walks, and symbolic fire ceremonies help guests let go of the past and embrace change. These experiences encourage grounding, clarity, and a sense of renewal.
- Qigong Meditation: a 5,000-year-old practice originating from China that combines movement and breathwork. Encouraged to practice daily, this helps guests with self-regulation of stress and feeling energy travel around the body.
